This one-day class begins with an approachable introduction to what autism is and how it may affect communication, sensory experiences, learning, and daily life. Understanding your child’s unique needs gives you a stronger foundation for deciding how to support them. From there, you’ll be introduced to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and practical strategies you can use in everyday routines. You’ll learn to notice patterns in behavior, encourage helpful skills, prevent some challenging moments, and respond more effectively when they happen. You’ll leave with ideas to try at home and a clearer starting point for supporting your child and family. ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR Dr. Lola Plucer-Rosario has worked in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for more than 15 years, serving as a clinical director, regional supervisor, and mentor to teachers, parents, and BCBAs across Guam, Hawai‘i, the islands of Micronesia, and the U.S. mainland. Her experience includes helping families, schools, healthcare settings, and community organizations better understand autism, address challenging behaviors, build meaningful skills, and create practical supports for children with autism. Her work also includes autism evaluations, school and government consultation, professional training, and the development of programs and services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Through years of working directly with families, Dr. Lola understands that parents need more than information—they need strategies that make sense in everyday life. She designed Autism & Everyday ABA to help parents first build a better understanding of autism and their child’s individual needs, and then learn practical ABA strategies they can use at home and in daily routines. Her goal is to make ABA approachable, practical, and useful, so families leave with greater understanding, concrete tools, and a clearer path for supporting their child’s growth. Join the team at Blue Ocean Behavioral Health. Blue Ocean Behavioral Health is Hiring! Blue Ocean Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Provider to serve children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across Guam. The provider will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed outpatient care. Responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual, family, couples, and group therapy, completing risk assessments and safety planning, and maintaining timely clinical documentation. The provider may also conduct behavioral health or psychological evaluations, facilitate grief and support groups, and provide corporate behavioral health presentations, trainings, and consultations. Qualifications : Master’ s or doctoral degree in a behavioral health field and current Guam licensure as an LPC, LMHC, MFT, LCSW, or Psychologist. Clinical Psychologist Position Summary Blue Ocean Behavioral Health is seeking a licensed clinical psychologist to provide psychological assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary outpatient practice. The psychologist will serve children, adolescents, and adults referred by families, medical providers, schools, courts, Child Protective Services, and community agencies. Primary Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and differential diagnostic assessments. Select, administer, score, and interpret appropriate psychological measures. Integrate interviews, records, observations, collateral information, and test findings into clear psychological reports. Complete court-ordered and child-protection-related evaluations within professional and ethical boundaries. The therapist will work with diverse clients experiencing concerns ranging from life transitions and relationship difficulties to complex trauma, emotional and behavioral disorders, and child-protection involvement. Primary Responsibilities Conduct intake, psychosocial, diagnostic, and risk assessments. Provide individual, couples, family, child, and group therapy. Develop and regularly update individualized treatment plans. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Complete behavioral health evaluations, treatment summaries, progress reports, and court reports within professional scope. We have same-day service during business hours and accommodate large corporate groups if necessary. Price Card: PCR testing with our partners at DLS. 24-48 hour. $200 Rapid Antigen testing with BD Veritor Covid testing kits. 15 min results. $200 *Supply and specimen handling fees are assessed to all patients for specific tests and procedures. These fees are included in the self-pay price above. Insurance Coverage Local and National Insurance will cover Covid-19 tests that are ordered by our clinic providers when patients are symptomatic . PCR is currently the only test that is covered by insurance. Supply and specimen handling fees may apply for viral and bacterial tests administered at IHP. Patients can choose to use BD Veritor antigen rapid tests in lieu of PCR at a self-pay rate. All covid tests for asymptomatic patients are not covered by insurance. Guam DPHSS Tests We also offer Cue & BinaxNow Rapid Antigen Testing provided by DPHSS. This test is available for all symptomatic patients at no cost. Physician and clinic service fees are not covered by DPHSS and will be charged to insurance or patient. From her experience as a Patient Access Registrar to helping patients settle billing issues as an Insurance Department Team Lead, Elisabeth has been caring for patients for over two decades. Elisabeth began her career in nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Alegent Health/Catholic Health Initiatives in Papillion, Nebraska. In 2014, she started volunteering with the American Red Cross as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room at U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa before being hired there full time. In 2015, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing in 2018 from the University of South Alabama, majoring in advanced practice nursing. She is dual board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Geriatrics Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Elisabeth completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2021 from the University of South Alabama with a capstone focus on acute stroke management. Autism Diagnostic Service If you are looking for a diagnosis for Autism from one of our clinical psychologists, please fill out the information in the form below and we will reach out to you. Testing is done with our team at Blue Ocean Behavioral Health. Requirements and Helpful Information For insurance coverage of diagnostic testing, pre-authorizations for the test may be required. We recommend obtaining a referral from your pediatrician or primary care provider. This requires a visit to your child's doctor and requesting a referral for testing. Having the necessary paperwork, forms and approvals will help with the process and shorten the timeline to getting your child medically diagnosed with our clinical psychology providers. Don't worry if all this is so overwhelming, we are here to help. In addition, insurance coverage for Autism related counselling and therapies like ABA will require a medical diagnosis of autism.
